President Kovind Give Assent To Abrogation Of Article 370
President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the abrogation of Article 370. It will now revoke the special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The resolution to revoke Article 370 was passed by Lok Sabha on 6 August. It was passed by Rajya Sabha on 5th August.
Floods hit 11 Karnataka Districts
In a worsening condition for the people of Karnataka, seven people have died in rain-related accidents in the state on a single day. IMD’s forecast of heavy rainfall in next 3-4 days could worsen the situation.
Rajasthan Assembly Passes Anti-Mob Lynching Bill
Rajasthan Legislative Assembly passed a bill against mob lynching and honor killing in the state. In the case of the victim’s death, the bill provides a fine up to Rs 5 lakh and life imprisonment to convicts involved in mob lynching. Among the total number of mob lynching cases happened in India after 2014, 86% of cases of mob lynching reported in the Rajasthan.

Hafiz Saed Found Guilty Of Terror Financing
Mumbai terror attack mastermind & Jammat-ud Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed was declared guilty of terror financing by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in a Pakistani court on Wednesday. LeT is responsible for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people.
