Delhi Government Announces Free WiFi At 11,000 Places
The Delhi Government led by Arvind Kejriwal has announced the installation of 11,000 hotspots across the city to provide free internet through Wi-Fi. A registered user will be able to avail 15Gb at 200mbps internet per month. This scheme was one of the major poll promises of AAP in 2015 manifesto.
Pakistan Suspends Samjhauta Express Temporarily, Cut Trade Ties
In a desperate attempt to create a panic mode in South East Asia, Pakistan had halted the Samjhauta Express at Wagah Border. Pakistan is claiming that the train’s crew —two drivers and a guard were scared of entering Indian Territory following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir. Although, Indian officials have said that the train is not suspended and Pakistan had security issues and concerns. Pakistan has also banned Bollywood movies in the country along with trade ties with India.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee Receives Bharat Ratna
Former president and Congress veteran Pranab Mukherjee was awarded Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award by President Of India Ram Nath Kovind. Late Assamese singer-composer Bhupen Hazarika and the late social activist Nanaji Deshmukh were given the Bharat Ratna posthumously.

PV Sindhu Named In Forbes World’s Highest-Paid Female Athletes
Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is the only athlete from India to be named among the world’s highest-paid female athletes by Forbes. The list is topped by Serena Williams. Sindhu secured total earnings of $5.5 million, She became the first Indian to win the season-ending BWF World Tour finals in 2018.
